Danish CentreStudyTripProgramme

The DANISH Centre study trip programme is a combination of accommodation, Chinese classes, cultural activities, sightseeing, field trips, company visits and project assignments and presentations.

The programme shall be available for different kinds of student’s studying at Niels Brock and CphBusiness, and can be tailormade so it suits the different fields and areas of each study.

The purpose of the programme is to make the student familiar with China as a country, Chinese culture and habits, the differences between Danish and Chinese culture, to make the student learn and understand why it is difficult to do business in China and the opportunities to do as well.

The student will also have to learn how China has evolved though history and how much influence policy has had through history as well, which have also had a big influence on the Chinese people.

The aim of the study trip programme is also for the student to develop and evolve on a personal level, and experience the largest and most populous country in the world.

Classes;

Chinese Language ClassesFocus on oral Chinese, “survival phrases” or “nice to know phrases” & Shanghai dialect

Business ClassesHow to do business in China, negotiation “Chinese way”, local customs that any business man must know, laws that influence the trade, what to be aware of if you want to be successful in China, networking and building relations, challenges for Danish companies to do business in China, role-plays in class (negotiation wise)

Cultural Awareness ClassesCultural differences between Denmark and China, how to obey in China, what to do and what not to do, how to be a “foreign Chinese”, debates and presentations by the students

Chinese History & Politics ClassesHow the history has shaped China, different dynasties, political leaders (Mau) and what they have done for the country, how does the Chinese history & Politics influence China’s relationship with the western world.

Cultural Activities:

Kung fu The student will learn the classic techniques of Kung Fu, and will also receive a lecturer about the history and resurrection of Kung Fu.

Tai ChiThe student will as an introduction to their Tai Chi lessons get a lecturer in Tai Chi, what it is, how and why to use it.

Chinese Tea CeremonyThe lectureincludes a historical introduction to how the tea ceremony started in China, making of tea and drinking of tea in traditional Chinese way.

Dumpling ClassIn this class the student will in cooperation with a Chinese chef make dumplings with yeast dough as this is the dough most similar with the bread used in western cuisine, with different kinds of vegetable and meet stuffing.

Calligraphy ClassThe calligraphy class includes an introduction to the art itself and the history behind it and the student will learn how to combine the body and spirit in to the art of writing.

Price for study trip

Accommodation: single room 120yuan /day, small double room 130yuan/day, big double room 150yuan/day

Tuition for classes: 1000yuan for 20 hours of teaching per week

Transportation: depending on the distance of travelling.
